Not inspired by any one thing, Candy Randy came about as an attempt to capture the feel of hours spent aimlessly perusing children's advertising and packaging from the early 1960s.
 
It always reminds me a bit of Christmas and was named after an imaginary character in tales told to my youngest sister.

Candy Randy

A font loosely based on the entrance to the Hellmuth Building in New York (which I always read as Hellmouth Building and think, "That's convenient, you know, for slayers"). I suggest mixing up the lowercase and uppercase characters at random for the best results.
 
This family also includes a shadowed version plus stackable beveled and shadow only options.

Hellmuth

Inspired by vintage fifties and sixties design and advertising, the original Horseshoes & Lemonade is a serif font with exaggerated angles and an uneven rectangle background motif popular at the time. Although this font contains capital letters only, the lowercase characters offer variations and alternating between the two can create a more playful look.
 
Since the initial release, the family has grown with the additions of Horseshoes and Horseshoes Outline — letter only versions without the backgrounds. It was also updated in 2024 to improve kerning and make minor tweaks to characters that felt a little awkward.
 
As an added bones, this package includes a set of seamless retro backgrounds in PSD (created in Adobe 2022) and PNG formats and SVG shapes.

Horseshoes & Lemonade

Like the study of Kremlinology, this font is an interpretation of Soviet culture for Western audiences.
 
Based on a vintage Russian poster but not in the original Cyrillic, it is an attempt to capture the feel of the era if not the actual characters.

Kremlinology

Mistletoe is a mutli-colored OpenType SVG font to brighten up the holiday season. It contains hand drawn, thick serif lettering with a leaf and berry pattern inside. Since it’s an all caps font, it’s ideal for larger display blocks of text.
 
Color fonts are supported in Illustrator CC 2018 and Photoshop CC 2017 plus Firefox and Microsoft Edge on the web. This download also includes a single color fallback variation.
 
This is my first color font and the first font I’ve created with the Glyphs app so if you have any technical issues — even if you’re using the free personal version — please let me know.
